In Case You Missed It – The Tech Stupidity of 2011

In digital news | on 12.31.11

Little late for a New Year’s post, but several of these The Top Ten Stupidest Things That Happened In Tech In 2011 are smart-on. But we’ll have to stop and explain one: SOPA.

SOPA and its sister law Protect-IP are two laws American government is seeking to pass to enable the blocking of international content wherever it is deemed to infringe on copyright. What this means for the rest of us, is that it could hurt revenue streams going into and out of the US. But inside the US, it’s getting massive outcries and panic that seems disproportionate to its impact. In any case, Microsoft, Apple, and Google have all spoken out against SOPA, so it probably doesn’t have a chance unless the American government are complete idiots.

Cross your fingers…

'The site just looks better and better Peter, we've had so much good feedback from people who've seen it, from all walks of life as well, our partner organisations, the resort owners of Leleuvia, friends and family and ex-volunteers who all think it not only looks professional, but gets the message across well too.'
