Auto Redirecting Techniques You Must Know
Auto redirecting to another page is a frequent experience. It may be for various reasons like redirection to a previous page when a comment has been submitted or auto redirecting to the main page after a form is filled etc. Many webmasters also use auto redirecting for the purpose of SEO. The other page to where you get redirected need not be a different website; it may be a part of the same website. When a website is created only for the purpose of search engine optimization webmasters, auto redirecting helps obtain a higher ranking. When a webpage is created only for purpose of search engine optimization without much content for visitors, redirection is helpful.
The technique of redirection is, however, frowned upon by the search engines. Some search engines may even penalize websites that have auto redirectors set only for this purpose. But that is not always done for all redirections. Only if you are detected to be primarily using redirection for SEO by human indexed search engines, then the webmaster may penalize you. However, wherever it is necessary it should be used. If you have a message board where visitors are allowed to post messages you would have to consider redirection here. After the message has been posted, you would obviously have to redirect to a confirmation page or the main page, then this would be perfectly valid to do so. Rather it is necessary to use auto redirection in this situation.
