How To Design Your Website For The Average User
Gone are the days when computers were only used by experts for scientific researches and other specialized or technical jobs. Today there is a personal computer with Internet connection in almost every home. It is no longer restricted to tech savvy people. Both the young and the old make use of computers and the Internet to find various kinds of information. However not everyone is well versed in its use and thus it is important for you to come up with a website that can be easily accessed and liked by the average user. A complicated website can result in traffic losses for your business.
The average user is a person who is not that in touch with the technical world.
They may just know how to log on to the Internet and do the normal search and move on with the flow of the website. There are many such users across the world and if you want to reach out to a large number of people you need to make your website really user-friendly. Not every one is aware that you can actually type the URL in the address bar and get linked to the website you are looking for. What the average user is likely to do is that they will go to a search engine like Google or yahoo, then type a subject in the search box and wait for the search results. If your website is not search-engine optimized, it will not be easily pulled out by the browser.
Remember it pays to advertise your website on television, radio or in newspaper. It helps people know about your website. You also need to make your website search-engine-optimized so it comes up on the first page of the search engine. Also you need to have a catchy title tag. Recent studies show that the average user simply logs on to the website after reading the title tag which is the hyperlink below the first line. Hence you need to make sure that correct keywords are used in the title tag. Of course, the keywords should be meaningful and not sound senseless.
